Can You Make Your Eyelashes Grow Naturally?

Many women – and some men – desire longer, thicker eyelashes, and they have been searching for ways to make their eye lashes grow for decades. In the meantime, we use products like eyeliner and mascara, and even false eyelashes, to make our eyelashes appear to be longer and fuller. Can you make your eyelashes grow longer and thicker with a product?

While there are some products on the market which claim to make eyelashes grow, without just giving the appearance that they have grown, there is no scientific evidence to back this up. There is also no scientific evidence to support home remedies for longer eyelashes either, such as applying Vaseline to your eyelashes.

This doesn’t mean that these remedies do not work. Some women claim that it works, while others claim that it doesn’t. The only way to know whether it will work for you is to try it, but you absolutely must use caution, because you don’t want to damage your eyes. Technically, however, the only thing that Vaseline can really do is make your eyelashes appear to be longer and thicker.

Unfortunately, from a natural standpoint, until such scientific evidence exists, you have two choices. You can spend tons of money on various treatments – which may or may not work, and which may or may not be dangerous in the long run – or you can live with what nature has given you, and enhance your eyelashes with the products that women have been using for decades.

There are some brands and types of mascara on the market that contain serums and conditioners, as well as certain proteins. These are good for your eyelashes, because they actually serve to make them stronger. However, there is still no scientific evidence that it helps them to grow longer or fuller, and it is important to realize that. Because the eyelashes are stronger, they are less likely to fall out as often, even as new eyelashes grow in, which makes them thicker for periods of time – until they eventually fall out.

If you want healthy eyelashes, wear quality mascara that looks natural, as opposed to mascara that has a clumpy appearance, which isn’t very natural at all. Make sure that you remove the makeup each night, very gently, so that your eyelashes fall out less often as well. Failing to remove the mascara before you go to sleep will only result in having your eyelashes fall out at an even faster rate.
