Is Beauty Healthy?

Many women indulge in a spa experience primarily as a means of maintaining or improving their overall health and wellbeing.Others simply regard visiting spas as part of their normal beauty regime.Whatever the reasons for visiting a spa, most women consider the entire exercise worthwhile, whether that’s to maintain their physical, mental and emotional well being or simply looking their best.

Spa Breaks can provide an oasis of well deserved tranquillity and relaxation in an otherwise hectic lifestyle. How well that is achieved will depend on the skills of the therapists and the facilities of the spa itself, but equally the visitor to the spa needs to be in the right frame of mind to make the encounter a complete success.  Commonly offered at almost every spa, a massage is a soothing and relaxing experience, but it still requires organisation to get the most out of it.Rushing to get into your robe at the last minute because you’ve arrived late will spoil the beneficial effects of a massage.   Massage does have many practical health benefits like calming the nervous system, promoting a sense of relaxation and well being, reducing tension and anxiety and improving blood circulation.

The same is true for foot and hand care because, while it’s always nice to have time spent on your toes and legs, there are physical benefits to getting a pedicure on a regular basis.  The pedicurist is not only helping to improve your cosmetic appearance but can enhance your comfort. Having calluses for example causes uneven pressure when you walk or stand which leads to the pain you feel when you’re on your feet all day. So ,you may be leaving the spa with pretty toes but you are also gaining a good mood and better health. Besides, it never hurts to have pretty toes.
