Toenail Fungus Treatment – Are your toenails smelly, thick, and yellowish or brownish in color? Do your toes hurt or itch a lot? A combination of two drops of oregano oil and a teaspoon of olive oil applied to the affected area for not more than three weeks is also an effective alternative toenail fungus treatment. Another cure is by dabbing cotton soaked with tea tree oil on the infected toenail twice every day for three weeks. Try scrubbing a tea tree oil-soaked toothbrush over and under the nail so the uppermost layer could be shed, getting rid of the stubborn fungus. Listerine mouthwash is also widely recommended. Immerse your toes in Listerine for twenty minutes. Apple cider vinegar and lemon juice can also be added into the mouthwash to form a highly acidic solution that will kill and inhibit fungal growth. Always make sure to pat your feet dry and air them after soaking your feet in your choice of solutions.
Home remedies are fairly effective and easy to follow. However, if symptoms persist, it is advisable to consult a physician for a more advanced toenail fungtus treatment.
