Why Dieting, By Itself, Does Not Result In Fat Loss

The term fat burning diet is a misnomer. You will not lose fat from your body by dieting. Only exercise burns fat.

If fat loss is what you want, you wont achieve it without exercise. And, you will need to research the right fat burning exercise regimen for you, because not all exercise routines burn fat.

But Much Has Been Written About Fat Burning Diets

That’s right.  A fat burning diet is an eating program to follow that will help you to lose fat faster, when doing a fat burning exercise program. A fat burning diet enables more rapid fat burning to occur as a result of your exercise.  Without one, fat loss may not occur at all.

Dieting Does Result In Weight Loss

It is absolutely right that you can lose weight by dieting. The problem is that you may very well think that fat loss is another term for weight loss; it is not. When you diet, you will only lose fat if you exercise as well. Diets, alone, can result in weight loss – but not fat loss.

How You Gain Weight

It is not hard to grasp how you add fat and weight to your body.  When you use fewer calories than you eat, you add weight and fat to your body.

When you eat more calories than you use, you get fatter because your body stores the difference as fat. You will add 1 pound of fat to your body, when you have accumulated 3,500 more calories eaten than used.

If you apply logic to this, you would expect to lose 1 pound of fat from your body by eating 3,500 fewer calories than you expend. I am sorry to tell you that if you reverse the process you used to add fat to your body, you will not necessarily take it off.

If you try to lose fat by “dieting” alone, it won’t happen.  If all that you do is consume fewer calories than you use, you will lose weight. The weight that you lose will be from reduced muscle mass and reduced water in the body. You will not have lost fat.

What Is The Result of Dieting Without Exercising

You may think that you are doing well, because your scales tell you about the weight that you have lost. Unfortunately, your mirror never lies.  It will tell you that the fat you wanted to lose from you waist or hips or thighs or legs or from wherever, is still there. You will see skin that is hanging from the place where you used to see some muscle.

Also, you will probably put the weight back on when you finish dieting. Because your body needs a certain amount of water to function properly, it restores the amount of water it needs to function, when you come off the diet. Also it is bad for your health to stay long term on a diet that depletes water and muscle mass from your body.

You may not like the way in which the body operates in connection with fat, but you need know about it.

Fat Burning Diet: Eating To Lose Fat

It is about what, when and how to eat. The internet and bookstores abound with articles and books on what to eat in order to maximize fat burning. However, many people find that a fat burning diet is too strict for their liking.

If the recommended diets are too strict for you, use your good sense when choosing your food. Obviously, it will not help you to lose fat if you eat regularly at McDonalds or if you eat a lot of pizza; nor if you drink a lot of beer.

Eat what you already know is good for you and restrict your intake of what you know is not. If you also keep the quantity of food that you eat down, while following a good exercise regimen, you should burn fat. With that in place, what will help you the most with fat loss, is learning when to eat and how to eat.

When And How To Eat For Fat Loss

Good fat burning programs not only provide you with exercise information, but they also tell you what you need to know about eating. You may even need some support in adjusting your eating routines.  These programs help with that as well.
